  1. B S,

Read both posts. I am sorry to say that you have left more questions in mind than clarity. At times one may have to follow path or vocation as per social norms but one should definitely keep dream alive to follow when possible. There are a number of examples where people well settled in something had left it to follow their dream.

    Take care

  3. B S,

This post has been broken in two parts asking for comments at the end of each. I commented on one which was last with only few lines. If you are talking of 9 years one tends to take it as professional life you are talking about. If it is life as whole then there is no time limit because we start having our convictions as soon as we start thinking process which is from very young age itself. Now what was your aim or dream which you did not go for but followed norms of society? That needs to be spoken about a little clearly. And what are your plans now once you have decided to break free of shackles?

  4. @jack Sir: Firstly, this post is not about vocation stress or changin my field of work...its about how I take life....
yes v do have convictions as soon as v start thinkin..very right.but 9 years is a long time so thats y i decided to break the rules defined by society as I have seen several times v tend to follow society norm only to make fool ourselves, so I take a path unknown where I will try to live life on my own terms...can't give u examples on this medium coz that would be too personal...but love to hear from u agn on this view of mine..thanks a lot ..tak cre!

  6. B S and Rohini,

I agree that there are many things which need change in the manner our society looks at and one should live by own conscience but does it give right to do what one feels right even at the cost of hurting someone? We must put ourselves in the shoes of others before we do something which is not as per norms.

    Take care

  9. @ Rohini Ji and Jack Sir:
In theory one is aware that the earth revolves, but in practice one does not perceive it, the ground upon which one treads seems not to move, and one can live undisturbed. So it is with Time in one's life.

  11. B S,

I agree with you that we do get hurt by some of the norms of society. We need to change with time. But before we think of changing any norm we need to evaluate properly. For example, society forbids marriage between close relatives. This has been given religious garb but if you see logic, it is as such unions lead to genetic defects. But forbiding of inter caste or inter religion or inter region marriages is not called for. One should follow own conscience but what affects does it have on society or own family must be visualised. For example, one believes in polygamy but would that person let his daughter's husband practice the same? Hope I am clear now.

    Take care
